MASSIVE VIBES, the organizing company of SOCA BOAT, is pleased to announce that the annual boat party will celebrate its 20th anniversary on Sunday, July 2nd, 2023, on the Ottawa River. This event has been bringing the West Indian and Caribbean communities of Canada’s capital together to celebrate their cultural heritage and artistic expression for two decades.
SOCA BOAT is a platform that showcases the best of Caribbean culture and music, with Soca and Calypso rhythms that unite the crowd in a celebration of summer. The event has become an essential part of Ottawa’s summer scene, and this year’s 20th-anniversary celebration promises to be the most spectacular one yet.
The Ottawa River Queen, one of the biggest boats in the National Capital Region, will host the boat party. The vessel has two levels, three bars, two outdoor patios, washrooms, and can accommodate up to 350 guests. The boat party will begin boarding at 5pm EST and will depart at 6pm EST, returning at 10pm EST.
Attendees can expect a night of excitement and sensation as they sail into the sunset, accompanied by the tropical sounds of one of the many casted DJs and musicians. SOCA BOAT will feature many surprises and giveaways on board, making it an unforgettable experience for all.
Once on board, guests will be treated to breathtaking views of the Nation’s Capital illuminated by the moonlight, including landmarks such as the Parliament Buildings and Rideau Falls. SOCA BOAT attendees must be at least 21 years of age.
Since 2003, MASSIVE VIBES has successfully produced SOCA BOAT, and its excellent organization has garnered attention from former Ottawa City Mayor, Jim Watson. On Canada’s 150th anniversary, Watson sent a congratulatory message to MASSIVE VIBES, saying, “I want to convey my best wishes to MASSIVE VIBES for a very successful 14th edition of its signature event, and to the participants of SOCA BOAT 150 for a most memorable celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary.”
