Aaron Woodson, an award-winning author, poet, actor, narrator, screenwriter, college student, and military combat veteran, is proud to announce that his latest poetry collection, The Face of Expression 3: Fall of a King, has received the prestigious Literary Titan Book Award.
Published by TaylorMade Publishing, The Face of Expression 3: Fall of a King is the powerful final installment in Woodson’s The Face of Expression trilogy. The collection brings the poetic series to an unforgettable conclusion through deeply personal explorations of faith, masculinity, love, Black identity, heartbreak, resilience, spiritual recovery, and legacy.
Throughout the collection, Woodson invites readers into an emotional journey shaped by struggle, self-reflection, courage, and hard-earned hope. His poetry combines elements of storytelling, spoken-word performance, testimony, and spiritual meditation to examine the experiences that define and transform a person’s life.
Literary Titan praised the book as a “sprawling, deeply personal poetry collection” that moves through themes of surrender, love, loneliness, self-worth, social pain, fatherhood, endurance, and spiritual restoration. The review also recognized the emotional honesty behind Woodson’s work, noting that the collection is “loud, searching, romantic, wounded, faithful, proud, and full of hard-earned hope.”
The book features poems such as “Chess With God,” “Leading With Love,” “Black By Popular Demand,” “Heart of A Lion,” “Still on My Feet,” “Quitting,” “Anchor,” “Waves,” “Pilot,” “Hello Handsome,” “Fallen Kings,” and “Swan Song.” Together, these works present the voice of a man confronting his wounds, affirming his identity, strengthening his faith, and refusing to surrender in the face of adversity.
Woodson writes from the perspectives of a soldier, believer, lover, survivor, and self-proclaimed king, while also revealing the vulnerability and exhaustion behind those identities. His conversational and sermon-like poetic style allows each piece to feel immediate, accessible, and emotionally direct.
The Face of Expression 3: Fall of a King represents the culmination of a literary journey that began with The Face of Expression in 2018 and continued with The Face of Expression 2: In Your Face in 2020. The trilogy explores life, love, pain, rejection, relationships, success, failure, faith, and personal experience. In this final volume, Woodson delivers what he considers his signature body of work and the defining statement of his poetic legacy.
Receiving the Literary Titan Book Award further establishes The Face of Expression 3: Fall of a King as a meaningful contribution to contemporary poetry. The honor recognizes the collection’s emotional power, spiritual depth, and unfiltered examination of Black manhood, resilience, vulnerability, and healing.
Readers who appreciate confessional, faith-centered poetry with a strong spoken-word current will find a compelling and relatable experience in Woodson’s final installment. The book is both a grand finale and a personal testimony from an author determined to leave an indelible mark on the hearts and minds of readers around the world.
