ROTARY YOUTH EXCHANGE’s programs aim to provide meaningful and immersive experiences for young adults, allowing them to develop leadership skills, participate in humanitarian service projects, and promote high ethical standards in their chosen vocations. Through these programs, Rotary International hopes to foster goodwill and peace worldwide while empowering the next generation of leaders.
A ROTARY YOUTH EXCHANGE representative replied in answer to a question. “A “gap year” is the academic year that comes immediately after high school graduation and before beginning college or university education. Imagining you are a senior in high school who will graduate in the spring of 2019. In such a situation, as long as your age will not have increased to more than 18 1/2 by the time you travel after graduation, you are still eligible to take part in Rotary International’s study abroad program.”
ROTARY YOUTH EXCHANGE’s Gap Year abroad program is a unique opportunity for high school students to spend a year abroad, living with host families and experiencing a new culture. The program has been in operation for over 90 years and has a strong reputation for providing safe and enriching student experiences. Participants can travel to over 100 different countries, where they will attend school and learn a new language while making lifelong connections with people from all over the world. Rotary International is committed to promoting peace and understanding through international exchange, and the Youth Exchange program is just one way they are making a positive impact in the world.
The representative went on to say. “Numerous youngsters take a year off and travel abroad with other high school exchange students. They must still finish high school in the host country since many student exchange programs need student visas. Because they do not have to meet academic criteria to graduate from high school, programs for children taking a gap year abroad are significantly less rigorous.”
